Happy April!!
Women leadership conference on the 30th of April organized by Ek Duniya India Canada based organization. Our organization was also invited, participants of Payal Sewing center, Literacy project and Graduate with the newly joined staff from Jodhpur and Setrawa went and attended the conference, here women could share their views on work and life. Create a network of women to fight for justice etc. We also displayed things made by our graduates, our girls spoke to women about their experiences.

15 days just passed and I am back with lots of interesting news!!
Sambhali Trust:
Structure, curriculum, staff meetings, lack of resources etc etc etc.... but i must say with the blessings and support of my friends the obstacles look very small.
Besides the politics in the department of women and child development staff here in Jodhpur and in Jaipur, we are running successfully the government program related to improving the existing government's 10 self help groups given to us on 4th Feb 2010 for the empowerment from the district.
(The government project have had training of Management for two two days each group, where master trainers were invited to evaluate the group and their capabilities, followed by a visit to the bank, ladies had lunch with us and stayed from 9.30till 4.30pm)from 5th of April til 11th April.
The Senior officials of the District are wonderful people, its these people who work in the accounting and project officers for the NGO's are corrupt.
We have requested Ms. Anita Channgani to take over as the manager for the Government program.
Setrawa Project Ms. Bhagwati as a field worker for the Sheerni project has quit, instd Mr. Mool singh has taken over as one of the two field worker.
Ms. Ram kanwar the tuition teacher has also quit because she couldnt spare time from work at her home.
Graduates have been given few workshops of making jewelery, they are happy and it is continuous job with some money.
We have hosted women travels group on the 14th of April with 32 guest, the ladies are from Switzerland on this occasion we hosted a women empowerment rally with more than 300 people joining, we had our participants of Sheerni project, Sambhali trust setrawa village project(not the tuition girls),Payal sewing center, women empowerment project Jodhpur, the Graduates of the women empowerment project, literacy participants, the government program we have taken (Priyadarshini Adarsh Self Help Group Sheerni Project, Sambhali Trust ).
We had privilege to invite Honorable Mr. Naveen Mahajan, the District collector of Jodhpur, Respected Mr. Shakti Singh Rathore, Deputy Director of Women and Child development, Ms. Sonja Muller lang, the Tour operator of the Women Travels in Zurich and other reputed social workers of Jodhpur.

Pity of the day was that it was very hot, the group could not walk with us more than 5 minutes, they got their pictures taken by the media, they sat in their bus and left for their hotel, i received call from Ms. Sonja from the bus that they need to cancel further plans for the day and she said they want to say good bye. We could not give one little presentation or any information to the group members about our projects. All together in end of the day it was honor the ladies came to join in the get-together, celebration of women empowerment.
We had organized beautiful folk dance programs by our graduates, women empowerment project jodhpur, payal sewing center participants.
We gave 10 Sewing machines away to our participants who were in most need, the machines were bought with the help of generous sponsors.
Sambhali Trust has also given platform to Amrita Self Help group in Jodhpur where women are from all different castes, communities, social status.
