Sambhali Trust in March 2014

March 2014 - Sambhali News for you all!!

New project:

Congratulations everyone.. we found this very nice, new place in the old town of Jodhpur to help more women and girls. The new empowerment center is based near Mertiya Gate and will be called Sambhali Sisters for Sisters women and girls empowerment center. Our first meeting today went successful with the amount of women and girls interested in our project but sad at the same time because of not being able to help everyone.

"No Bad Touch":

Another feather in our hat, the department of education has approved Sambhali Trust to spread the campaign 'NO BAD TOUCH' in the government school of the district to aware, educate and prevent the children from Child Sexual Abuse. Thank you Dr. Reena Bhansali from Smile Junction, Jodhpur and The Child Welfare Committee- Jodhpur and ARC UNSW, Australia for helping us initiate this campaign in July 2013.

Supporters:

Sarah Harrington one of our volunteers organised a fundraising ball on 28 February in Cheltenham, England, which included dinner, dancing, raffle prizes and auction. We are very thankful to Sarah for all the work she has done to put on this event. The fund raised will establish and run our new Empowerment Centre for 30 women and girls called Abhivyakti Empowerment Centre, which we hope to open in March. We would like to say thank you to all those who donated the auction and raffle prizes as well as all those who supported this event. A wonderful time was had by all.

Some wise words..

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where the mind goes forward into ever-widening thought and action.
Into that heaven, let me awake.

The words of Rabindranath Tagore
